The ZWO 2-inch Filter Drawer with 20mm ring thickness design has been independently developed by ZWO, specifically for their FULL FRAME cooled cameras, the ZWO ASI6200MM-PRO and ASI6200MC-PRO.
It includes an M54x0.75 male thread on the camera side and M54x0.75 female thread on the telescope side, and it is suitable for 2" filters (the filter container has got a M48 * 0.75 female thread).
It also comes with a M54 to M48 adapter, so that you can attach it to a telescope or flattener/redcuer that features a male M48 thread.
The main idea of a filter drawer is to use it with a colour camera where there is usually no need for lots of various filters, usually just few filters need to be swapped between sessions. One of these would normally be either a UV/IR-cut off or light pollution filter (CLS, UHC etc) and the other filter would be a narrowband, i.e. H-alpha or a Dual Band filter.
See images below:
The M48*0.75 female thread on the filter container allows the use of standard 2" filters.
The M54*0.75 female thread can be used to connect with the telescope and the M54*0.75 male thread can be used to connect with the ASI6200 camera.
The double strong magnets create stronger hold, easier installation and pulling out.
There is a lock screw on the side of it. The locking function is helpful on adjusting the tension to eliminate the gap, which is a double insurance for users.
With the ability of double strong magnetic pull, it is more convenient and much easier to install or pull out the filter.
There also is a M54-M48-2 adapter that is included with the M54 Filter Drawer, so that you can attach it to a telescope or flattener/reducer that features a male M48 thread.
70mm(height)*70mm(length)*20mm(thickness)
M42*0.75 male(external) thread (camera side)
M48*0.75 female(internal) thread (filter end)
M48*0.75 female(internal) thread (telescope side)
Suitable for 2-inch astronomical filters
Note:with this solution you can only reach 56mm back focus length. Also the M48-M42 adapter will block the camera sensor a little bit.
If it has to be precisely 55mm back focus length then we recommend to use 2”EFW with M68 OAG:
