Celestron Zoom Eyepiece 1.25 in - 8-24mm
Celestron Premium 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece for 1.25-inch eyepiece holders
For very long time I have been convinced that this zoom eyepiece from Celestron is not at all different from similarly looking no-name models. Physically these all look the same, but the Skywatcher version and other no-name zoom eyepieces are much cheaper. Recently, when giving a lift to my son back to the university, I had a chance to visit one of our customers on my way who was very eager to try various eyepieces, including zoom eyepieces. Now, I was sure that in the end he won't go for a zoom eyepiece for his Helios Quantum 7.4 observation binocular as zoom eyepieces in general are not the best option for binocular viewing in my opinion, but we tried it anyway, so I had a chance to try these celestron Zoom eyepieces and was surprised how much sharper and brighter image did they produce than the brandless ones. I think this might be due to a use of more sophisticated optical coatings used on the lens surfaces that will reduced glare and allow higher level of transmission. So, here it is, a super-premium fully multi-coated 1.25" zoom eyepiece that has a focal length of 8-24mm and allows for expanded magnification options.
This is a very good compromise, but if you can afford, you could also consider either the Celestron Deluxe Zoom Eyepiece 8-24mm or one of our best sellers, the Hyperion Zoom Eyepiece from Baader Planetarium that also comes in a combo with a Hyperion Barlow lens (best value).
