
































































We were showcasing the following CCD cameras together with our new international supplier Moravian Instruments at the International Astronomy Show 2013 that took place at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.
Designed and built in Europe, the wide range of high-end CCD cameras for astro photography and various fields of scientific research cannot stay unnoticed.
We have seen comparison reports of these cameras with other well known cameras and were amazed how well these cameras performed and their cooled cameras provided beautiful, low noise images.
You might find CCD cameras with the same sensors, but the sensor is not all what matters. The high level of integration of post processing circuitry, robust metal housing and other clever features make these cameras exceptional in both quality and value for money.
For beginners, for guiding and imaging the Moon and planets we would recommend the G1-0300. Now available at recently lowered price.
The G1-1200 is the best choice for beginners with somewhat higher budget or those with some previous experience in astrophotography.
The G2-8300 is simply our bestseller that is suitable for a wide range of astrophotography; not surprisingly most of the published photos were made by these cameras. The G3-11000 offers the best price/chip area ratio, these are available with Class 1 or Class 2 sensors. The version with a Class 2 sensor is frequently purchased by amateur astronomers, who'd like the benefit of having such a large chip, but doesn't necessarily want to pay extra cash for the Class 1 version that is really recommended for scientific research. However, the G3-16200 recently became the possibly most popular Moravian camera of all times, due to its reliability, good price/chip area ratio and sensor size (which is slightly smaller than full frame but larger than APS-C).
The greatest of all our cameras, the G4-16000 is the ultimate CCD camera for any amateur astro photographer or even a professional!
The liquid cooling version that offers enhanced cooling up to 65 degrees below ambient temperature is also under development.

There are also few cameras under development that feature e2v sensors also used by NASA, ESA etc and not yet listed here.
During 2018 Moravian Instruments introduced their MARK II cameras that offer increased download speed, built-in tilting mechanism and new, modern design. All these welcome improvements make these cameras a worthwile alternative to any top end cameras made in other countries (i.e. USA and UK).
The download speed is probably the most important and notable change. It varies depending on the camera model, but it is around 2.5x of the original.
Both the original series and Mark II series G3 and G4 are avaialble with enhanced cooling as well.
The news for 2019 is that Moravian Instruments started development of CMOS cameras in 2018 and these will be available from around April 2019.
