M48 ULTRA SHORT Lens Adapter / Adjustment Ring for Canon EOS dSLRs
This ULTRA SHORT M48 camera adapter ring with 1mm optical length is a connecting ring that links the Canon EOS digital camera with other optical devices coming with a 2" filter thread (M48). Please note, you cannot screw it directly into the back of an SC telescope as that thread is actually larger (50.4mm)
Please note, although this has a M48 thread that's been used with full frame cameras, this adapter will not have enough clear aperture (without modification) for a full frame Canon EOS camera, so there'll be some vignetting, therefore this can be used when there is a need for compensating very short back of a telescope, when used with CPS-C Canon cameras. Otherwise, you might consider to put it in a lathe and remove few mm from the middle for clear aperture for a full frame camera.
We don't call it a T-ring as T-rings come with a M42x0.75 thread and this item comes with a larger opening with M48x0.75 thread...but otherwise the function is the same.
- very short Adaptation M48 threads to Canon EOS cameras
- In astro photography, the backfocus of some telescopes is so short that it's not possible to bring a SLR camera into focus with standard ring (+10mm)
Here, the M48-EOSs adaptor is useful. With its help, you can attach accessory parts like:
- TS rotation system (360° Rotation / 2" filter holder)
- TS Off Axis Guider with only 9mm optical length
- TS Filter Changer
