The recently announced LS50THa/PT Complete H-Alpha Solar Telescope is again a great and welcomed idea from Lunt and is now available from our UK stock!

This H-alpha telescope comes with 50mm aperture and <0.75 Angstrom bandwidth. An affordable complete telescope for viewing the sun in H-alpha light.

The LS50THa is a complete Solar Telescope with 50mm clear aperture and 350mm focal length. An internal etalon with tune adjustment allows for a <0.75 Angstrom bandwidth.

In this version a B600 blocking filter is being used.

The refractor based telescopes will provide:

- 50mm free aperture (no central obstruction)

- 350mm focal length

- internal Etalon with air-pressure tuning system “Pressure Tuner”

- bandwidth <0.75 Angstrom

- non-rotating Helical focuser

- clamshell with 1/4-20 tapped base (standard thread for photo-tripods)

Also double-stacking with a bandwidth of only <0.5 Angstrom will be possible. Therefore Lunt Solar Systems has especially designed a new LS50C double-stack filter in compact housing. The filter threads directly onto the LS50THa telescopes and gives much more contrast on the surface detail at the sun.

Of course, also the standard double-stack filters LS50FHa and LS60FHa can be used at the LS50THa telescopes. Therefore an adapter LS150/50 is also available separately...

Recommended (and suitable) accessories:

  •  1.25" Zoom Eyepiece 7.2mm - 21.5mm

The LUNT Zoom Eyepiece with variable focal length from 7.2mm to 21.5mm, with 1.25" connection.

  • Sol Searcher

Sol-Searcher for mounting on all solar telescopes of Lunt Solar Systems. The tube rings of the LUNT solar telescopes are prepared for the mounting of this Sol-Searcher.

  • Dovetail Plate 100mm (GP Level)

The LUNT Dovetail Plate with 100mm length. The telescope connecting screws are 1/4-20 inch size and they do not look out of the rail, which makes this rail a perfect match for Vixen like and similar mounts.

USER IMAGES

Below images are courtesy of Stephen Carr.

Details:

The camera is a ZWO ASI120MM, and the close ups use a TAL x2 barlow. Two videos were shot for each image, one to expose surface detail, the other for prominences. The videos ranged from 3000 to 5000 frames captured with 15% stacked. The videos were stacked in Autostakkert!2 with wavelet sharpening in Registax. They were colourized in layers in the photo editing program GIMP.
