Helios Planetarium - Northern Hemisphere, Earth-centred Model, Orrery and Star Dome

FREE SHIPPING TO UK MAINLAND!

A complete fully-electric system for studying the planets and stars. The complete Helios Planetarium system can be set up as either the basic geared orrery, the orrery and star dome (for Northern hemisphere) or as the Earth-centred model (with or without star dome).

With the Earth-centered model, watch as the Earth rotates on its axis while the Moon orbits it every 29.5 'days'. Show how these movements create months, seasons and the daily and monthly pattern of tides.

The various three set-ups of the complete model enable you to study the following topics:

  • The Planets in their orbits (length of a year, inferior and superior planets and more)
  • The Moon and its phases
  • Time - solar, sidereal and G.M.T.
  • Eclipse basics
  • The ecliptic and the Zodiacal constellations
  • How the planets appear to move against the night sky
  • Use of the Helios outside at night - where should the stars appear in the sky?
  • Shadows and the seasons
  • Day and night
  • The Moon's month, phases and eclipses
  • The Moon and stars from different positions on Earth
  • The Pole Star, circumpolar stars and a nocturnal
  • Space travel
  • The tides

This product is supplied with a star dome for the northern hemishpere. Product reference 0151 features the complete Helios Planetarium with the southern hemisphere star dome.
