Guiding Excenter M48
The Guiding Excenter from Gerd Neumann jr addresses an issue that astro photographers face quite frequently. There are various ways of adjusting the direction of the guide telescope. A special guide scope mount (e.g. guide scope mount from Skywatcher or Stronghold Assembly from Baader) is being one and the use of guidescope tube rings is the other, however both of these techniques will have more or less problem with flexure between the imaging and guiding scope, depending on the weight of the guiding scope and precision/load capacity of the mount.
The Guiding Excenter however does it differently. Instead of moving the guidescope tube, it simply moves the guide camera. You can imagine how big movement would be needed on a guidescope mount or the tube rings to achieve the corresponding movement of the camera. So, it is much quicker and easier to use. Also, it practically fully eliminates the above issue with flexure between the guide scope and imaging scope.
The eyepiece holder can be removed and with a help of an optional adapter M36,4 / T-2 (T2 for Vixen/Takahashi telescopes) your guide camera can be mounted via this sturdy connection.TELESCOPE CONNECTION: VIA M48-THREAD (T-threaded version is also available)
