365Astronomy Flexible 3D Semi-Spherical Lightweight Guiding Mount - Finder Base
If you want to use a 50mm finderscope as a guidescope, you would also need a platform that enables you to point the finderscope at a bright guide star.
(We'd advise to use it only when you struggle with finding a guidestar near your object. Always try to find a guidestar as close to your object as possible for best guiding results.)
This lightweight base can be used for small finderscopes as a flexible mounting base.
Due to its unique design this guidescope mounting base features full one-movement 3D control for quick alignment of guidescope.
Once object chosen, position secured with one locking handle.
Its clamp features three securing thumbscrews. The clamp accepts standard Sky-Watcher finderscope bracket.
To be secured to the telescope via a 1/4" photo thread.
Attention! The latest version also comes with a small dovetail bar that is also compatible with the Skywatcher finderscope shoe. (no new image available yet...)
There are various ways of securing this mounting base to your telescope. As mentioned above, it now comes with a dovetail bar at the bottom, but if you want to attach it to a different clamp, you might have a look at the below accessories...
One way to do it by attaching it to a EQ3fft Tripod Adapter Plate that then can be held by any Vixen-compatible clamp:
Another way would be to simply fix it to a dovetail bar attached to the top of your telescope. You might have to drill a hole on the dovetail bar, but some dovetail bars have pre-drilled holes on them...Then you would have to find a suitable screw with a 1/4" UNC photo thread...
