3.2mm - The Planetary UWA Eyepiece - 58 degrees 1.25"
The Planetary Eyepiece - TMB Planetary II
These extremely sharp 58 ° planetary eyepieces have a 16 mm eye relief. The contrast is enormous; one can compare them with other planetary eyepieces such as orthos. At the same time these give us larger field of view and more relaxed look for money than a conventional Ortho.
The “Planetary” series eyepieces are an excellent alternative to more expensive eyepieces such as orthoscopics. These eyepieces are being characterised by maximum optical contrast and modern mechanical structure. Wider field of view, large exit pupil and a large eye relief makes them clearly more suited to astronomical observations. And if we add together all the extras, surely can be understood why they became so popular so quickly:
- Uniformly 20-mm eyelens diameter
- Uniformly 16 mm eye relief
- Uniformly 58 degree field of view
- Focal length is written on two sides of the eyepiece in capital letters for easier selection of the right eyepiece in the dark.
- Adjustable (can be screwed out) rubber eyecup
- TMB design
These planetary eyepieces have a revised, modified Plossl build, 5 lenses in 3 groups (the 9 mm eyepiece has 6 lenses in 4 groups), of course, all multi-coated lens surfaces (fully multi coating). Distortion stays low even with bright (around f/5) telescopes.
The “Planetary” series eyepieces that come up to 9 mm focal length can be supplemented by the Magellan series of longer-focus eyepieces.
