The new Magellan WA series closes a gap in the market. In addition to our Gold Line and Blue Line eyepieces it complements the 60 to 70 degrees wide angle eyepiece family. This eyepice-design (built of 4 optical elements in 3 groups) comes without a Barlow element; the result is shorter eye relief with higher contrast in comparison to eyepieces built of more optical elements. Be also aware of the choice of focal lengths: 8mm, 12mm and 17mm. These are "intermediate values", these supplement the usual standard series of 6-9-15-20mm.  Obviously, all the glass-air boundaries are multicoated. The WA-1 series were designed for large light passage (4 lenses in 3 groups) and for medium-sized magnifications, so we recommend the WA-1 series especially for telescopes between f / 5 (f / 6) and f/10. For the best picture, the exit pupil (lens diameter divided by magnification) 3mm, 2mm or 1.5 mm is only slightly exceeded.
